Zoee’s 8th b’day

My little girl turned 8.  It was a good day, started out with chocolate chip pancakes.  My mom, Denny and Terri came over for dinner and cake.  We had carne asada tacos and red velvet cake.  Zoee got new bedding, a paint your own dog bowl set and a bike.  Her big gift she got a bit early, she’s going to be in a parade at Disneyland with her dance class.  She’s more excited now then she was before.  I can’t wait.  So the weekend of Emma’s b’day we will be spending at Disneyland.  I’m excited!

Tonight we made rainbow cupcakes for dance class.  They turned out so awesome!

In other news Greg took the first part of his Engineers test and PASSED!  Only one more hurdle.

Stuff

Well, I’ve been ignoring this place. Although not really. Just been busy enjoying the beautiful weather and being outside. About 2 weeks ago was the anniversary of my dad’s death. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already. I miss him so much….mostly just his voice. The girls and I went to Disneyland for the day since Zoee had a half day at school, it was a nice distraction, I cried myself to sleep that night.

Mother’s Day was hard for Greg and Friday was his b’day. He misses his mom’s voice too. It’s just weird that she’s gone.

Zoee has 3 more weeks of school then she’s a 2nd grader…lord….I don’t like this growing up stuff. In November we are taking Zoee to see Mary Poppin’s on stage in LA. To say I’m excited is an understatement. And the best part, Laura and Alan are going with us, they bought our tickets for both Greg’s and mine (?) b’day’s. Zoee is once again attached to her care bear…and Emma is still hooked on the hottest blanket in the world, it goes everywhere with us.

We are once again waiting on Greg’s job. Since the props didn’t pass this time around (we voted no on everything knowing this too) looks like more cuts are coming our way, although the union isn’t firing people right. They aren’t doing first hired first fired like they are supposed too. So it’s going to start a lawsuit and well, that’ll take some time. Greg is looking into Seattle and Oregon PD. He doesn’t want to go to another state as a firemen cause other places are behind in training. He’s also looking at the LAPD and CHP. I really don’t want him to be a cop, but it keeps food on the table. If unemployment is offered he will go to paramedic school, then it will be different to go out of state. I’ll get a job if I have too…not looking forward to it, but if it needs to happen it needs to happen.

It’s hard watching the fire station where he left 5 years ago. At the time he left he was making 60,000 and we struggled. Now they got a 10,000 raise from the federal government. I’m a tad jealous when everyone around us is taking paycuts they are getting raises. It sucks.

Greg and I are going to Santa Barbara in August to see No Doubt. I can’t wait!

Lastnight

Emma is a crack-up! Lastnight she said, I don’t like chicken, I need cake! Then when she was trying to get out of going to bed she said she needed a sandwich and Greg was in the kitchen making himself something to eat, I told her she had already eaten and it was time for bed. Greg broke down and gave her a piece of his sandwich and she snorted and said ohh! Baby sandwich and then squealed! It was hilarious!

It’s been a bad week here. Greg’s mom passed away last Sunday. He got the call on Monday while at work and left Tuesday to go up North to help take care of things. His mom didn’t have a will and was behind on her house payment has 30,000 sitting in the bank. She was without electricity and water for at least 3 months. Greg said it was horrible. All the feelings of my dad came up, it looks like they (Greg and his sister) won’t get anything. I feel so bad for him. He came home on Sunday and Monday we went to Disneyland for the night for my b’day. It was a nice time and I think it was good for Greg to get away from all of it for awhile.

Emma turned 3

Emma turned 3 and we had a nice day. She got a water table and some little people toys. She picked out her cake, a Ariel cake. She talked about it for 2 weeks. No one was allowed any cake but her. She also got a new bed, just like Zoee’s. She is happy as a clam.
